The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs deploys the fisheries and fishery administration work for 2025.
On February 24, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs held a meeting to deploy the 2025 fisheries and fishery administration work, analyze the situation, and deploy key tasks. Zhang Zhili, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
The meeting pointed out that in 2024, the fisheries and fishery administration system will earnestly implement the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, as well as the work requirements of the Party Leadership Group of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, actively promote the transformation and upgrading of fisheries, and achieve significant results in high-quality development of fisheries, maintaining a steady and progressive development trend. This not only ensures the safe and effective supply of aquatic products but also plays a unique role in protecting resources and the environment, serving the overall political and diplomatic situation, promoting farmers' income increase, and advancing rural revitalization.
The meeting emphasized that in 2025, the fisheries and fishery administration units under the Ministry must effectively enhance their political stance, deeply study and understand the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference, the Central Rural Work Conference, and the National Directors' Meeting of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, strictly adhere to the standards, and focus on implementation, fully promoting high-quality fisheries industry, sustainable resources, and guaranteed safety, while accelerating the modernization of fisheries.
The meeting required that the key points of the 2025 fisheries and fishery administration work be effectively implemented. It is necessary to steadily enhance fishery production capacity, strengthen aquaculture, optimize marine fishing, and solidify the supply foundation of aquatic products. Actively promote industrial transformation and upgrading, cultivate new productive forces in fisheries, expand the aquatic seed industry, develop facility fisheries, and create a complete industrial chain. Persistently focus on the conservation of aquatic biological resources, resolutely advance the ten-year fishing ban in the Yangtze River, and continuously increase the protection of aquatic wildlife. Continue to deepen the reform of fisheries, strengthen the construction of fisheries legal systems, develop industrial development plans, promote the reform of fishing vessel and fishing port management, and actively participate in international fisheries governance. Focus on strengthening safety production supervision, enhance risk control of fishing vessels, enforce local responsibilities, continuously improve the essential safety level of fisheries, and protect the lives and property of fishermen.
Leaders from the Fisheries and Fishery Administration Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Yangtze River Basin Fishery Supervision and Administration Office, the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, the National Aquatic Technology Promotion Station, the Chinese Society of Fisheries, the Fishery Guarantee Center, as well as the main responsible persons from relevant social organizations and insurance institutions in the fisheries sector attended the meeting.
