Dalian Shipbuilding delivers 7500 cubic meter liquid carbon dioxide transport ship
According to official news from the Dalian Shipbuilding Group,11on the day of the month,29the world's first commercial liquid carbon dioxide transport ship built by Dalian Shipbuilding for Norway's Arctic Aurora Company was delivered.7500The ship, named 'Arctic Aurora Pioneer', has a total length of about1meters, a beam of
meters, and a structural draft of/meters. It was independently designed and built by Dalian Shipbuilding, possessing complete independent intellectual property rights.
The design process of the ship type has always adhered to the design concepts of green, environmentally friendly, safe, efficient, and comfortable, employing various innovative technologies to lead the future development direction of this ship type.130It is equipped with two fully pressurized liquid cargo tanks made of special materials for transporting carbon dioxide, with a maximum carrying pressure of21.2and can withstand low temperatures of up to8°C.CThe main engine is configured to use both liquefied natural gas and marine light diesel fuel, and the emissions of sulfur oxides and nitrogen oxides from the ship meet the strictest requirements.19bargBy applying various innovative technologies such as rotor sails, bubble drag reduction, main engine exhaust monitoring systems, and shaft generators, the emission levels have been significantly reduced, enhancing energy-saving effects and meeting the most advanced Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI Phase III) requirements.-35The successful delivery of this ship marks that Dalian Shipbuilding has overcome a series of technical challenges, including ship type optimization (including overall performance, speed, maneuverability, etc.), liquid cargo tank material testing, liquid cargo tank and saddle reinforcement schemes, liquid cargo system design schemes, new energy-saving devices (including energy-saving sails, bubble drag reduction, shaft generators), large segment hoisting, vibration noise, and has mastered the design and construction technology of large liquid carbon dioxide transport ships, consolidating China's leading position in the shipbuilding market for carbon dioxide transport.Dalian Shipbuilding will earnestly implement the concept of 'green shipbuilding' by accelerating the research and development of new technologies and processes, increasing the application of new equipment and methods, and continuously making efforts in the field of green low-carbon environmental protection.Keeping pace with the times, it will continuously advance into the large new energy gas ship market, accumulating experience to provide solid technical support for achieving the goals of 'carbon peak and carbon neutrality'.
